The London My Ancestors Knew

Ray Street, Clerkenwell
Tottenham Street and Cumberland Street
Chalton Street and Church Way
St Pancras Old and New
Charlotte Street, Fitzroy Square
Albany Mews, Regents Park
St Martins in the Fields
Marylebone

Charles Dickens walked the same streets as my ancestors and his children were christened in the same church - St Mary's, Marylebone.
He wrote about Newman Street in "Our Mutual Friend" and many of his characters were drawn from real life and he incorporated his experiences as a newspaper reporter in his novels.

One of the best and biggest site of all is the John Snow site at UCLA. This is an absolute must as a resource for all genealogists with London Ancestors.
