My great great great grandfather Henry Haarnack, a harp maker, and his wife and six children and John Richard Harnack, a tailor, lived just across the road in Newman Street.
There would have been a grim reminder of the ever present threat of cholera.

This is what it looks like today.

Florence Nightingale was part of the congregation of St Marys, Marylebone where both Henry Haarnack and Frederick Harnack(see below) had their children christened. .

Ann Harnack was one of eight women who formed the fourth party sent out to Scutari. They arrived in March 1855 and Anne Harnack was employed at the General hospital and not at the Barrack Block Hospital. She did not stay for the full term of her contact was invalided home on Dec 10th 1855. She was "of good conduct".

Anne Rosina Harnack died in 1872. It appears that she never married.

The FRC indexes are as follows:
HARNACK Ann Rosina
age 66 death - Camberwell 1872 - Jun 1d 393

HARNACK Anne Rosina was the daughter of Frederick and Rose Harnack . She was christened at St Mary's in 1810.

The IGI reference is as follows

Anne Rosina HARNACK Christening: 8 Jul 1810
Saint Mary-St. Marylebone Road, St. Marylebone, London, England

I believe Anne Rosina had a sister called Emma Dorothy who married Thomas Durham at St Pancras Church in 1837

and two brothers - Frederick Charles, who married Elizabeth Martha Wilshin, and Christopher Lodewick, who married Frances Barnes Pike.
Frederick Charles was a tailor who lived at 22 Tottenham Street, Marylebone . It is possible that he knew or was related to the other HA(a)RNACK families mentioned above

We are looking for people who are interested in or are researching this branch of the family and would like to share and exchange information

I would like to express my thanks to Ken Horton who has kindly supplied some of the information quoted here.
